November 23, 2015

Honolulu taxi driver Enio Tablas has been found guilty of sexually assaulting a female passenger.

On November 20, a Circuit Court jury found Tablas guilty of sex assault in the third degree. Tablas faces a five-year prison sentence when he is sentenced on January 27 and will have to register as a convicted sex offender.

Tablas is also pending trial in another case in which he is accused of sexually assaulting a female passenger.

In the just-concluded trial, the woman testified that she had been drinking and was walking home when Tablas approached and offered her a free ride. The woman said Tablas drove her to Kahala Beach, where he assaulted her.

Deputy prosecutor Victoria Chang won the conviction.
