On February 7, 2024 Prosecuting Attorney Steve Alm gathered leaders from across the state to voice their objections to legalizing commercial marijuana. State lawmakers got the message. After lengthy debate they voted against legalizing marijuana. They also voted against increasing the amount of marijuana considered to be “decriminalized” from 3 grams to an ounce (28.35 grams).
This is a victory for Hawaiʻi and its youth. However, those determined to relax state law governing marijuana will continue to push for legalization.
Make your voice heard. Let’s Keep Hawaiʻi, Hawaiʻi by rejecting legalized commercial marijuana.
