Prosecuting Attorney Steve Alm held a press conference on March 20, 2025, regarding an officer-involved shooting that occurred on January 25, 2024 in the area of Moua Street and Farrington Highway in Mākaha.  The outcome of the Prosecuting Attorney’s investigation was that the use of force which resulted in the death of Mr. Maroney was justified.  No charges will be filed against the Honolulu Police Department officer who used deadly force in the course of this incident.
