Safe & SOUND WESTSIDE

Safe & Sound Westside integrates community-informed law enforcement with coordinated resources, prevention-focused programming, and cross-agency collaboration to improve safety and overall community wellness. The initiative mirrors the core principles of the nationally recognized Weed & Seed framework, first brought to Oʻahu by Prosecutor Steve Alm in 1998. It is the fifth location on O’ahu to implement the strategy following the Weed & Seed sites in Kalihi-Palama/Chinatown/Ala Moana, ʻEwa Beach, and Waipahu, as well as Safe & Sound Waikīkī. In December 2025, Safe & Sound Westside officially launched the “sound” component of the initiative, expanding prevention, outreach, and partnership efforts in coordination with enforcement. We encourage you to visit the site regularly for updates on progress, new events, and how you can get involved.
