A Circuit Court jury today found SIdney Presnall guilty as charged on three counts of methamphetamine trafficking in the second degree, Prosecuting Attorney Keith M. Kaneshiro announced.
Presenall’s arrest was the result of an undercover police operation initiated after community complaints about a man selling drugs at Kailua Beach Park.
Methamphetamine trafficking in the second degree is a Class B felony and Presnall faces 10 years in prison when he is sentenced on November 4 by Judge Glenn Kim.
“Ice is the No. 1 drug threat in Hawai‘i,” Kaneshiro said. “Most of our property crimes, and many of our violent crimes, can be linked to the use of this drug. Honolulu police did excellent work in response to residents’ concerns.”
Deputy prosecutor Cheuk Fu Lui won the conviction.
