Man who dismembered victim sentenced to life in prison

November 11, 2015

Convicted murder Bryan Suitt was sentenced yesterday to life in prison with the possibility of parole.

Suitt pleaded no contest in August to stabbing and dismembering Alex Gonzales, whose body parts were found along Mililani Memorial Park Road in September 2013. Gonzales was stabbed 55 times.

Suitt had nothing to say when offered a chance to speak by Judge Karen Ahn.

Deputy prosecutor Scott Bell read a letter from Gonzales’ uncle who described the shocking loss of a loved one in such horrific manners and his belief that one day Suitt would be held accountable by a higher authority. Gonzales’ uncle also thanked Honolulu police and the prosecutor’s office for their part in bringing Suitt to justice.
